Destination-specific plant material checks
Identify the exact fibre, any wooden components and the destination. Ask the importer or customs adviser which treatment or documents apply to that product. Wood-packaging rules do not automatically govern the basket itself.
Weave consistency across a handmade run
These are made by hand and vary. We agree a tolerance against a physical reference so inspection has something to measure against.
Frame and structure
Whether there is a metal or wooden frame inside decides whether a basket keeps its shape. It is usually invisible in the photograph.
Finish, lining and treatment
Lacquer, dye and lining fabric all affect both appearance and longevity, and lined baskets have textile requirements of their own.
Nesting and carton volume
Check how many baskets safely nest per carton and compare the packed dimensions with non-nested options.

- Drying and packing specified A drying period before packing and a packing method written into the order.
- Quote and approval Goods, any required treatment or documentation, service, inspection, consolidation and freight, itemised against measured nested-carton sizes.
- Inspection for dryness and weave Sampled baskets checked for damp, mould and weave consistency against the reference, and photographed.
- Consolidate and ship Compare measured carton volume and repacking cost before choosing a shipment plan.
