The listing price is only one part of a decor order. Large cartons can raise freight cost, while fragile pieces need protection that also takes space. Compare packed dimensions and route quotes alongside the goods price.
Before ordering, confirm the material and finish, seller minimum per variant, packing specification and who is responsible for damage.

Production regions to investigate
- Ceramics and stoneware — Chaozhou in Guangdong and Jingdezhen in Jiangxi. Deep capability, wide quality range.
- Glass and candle vessels — Hebei and Shandong, largely around Cangzhou.
- Rattan, seagrass and woven goods — Shandong and Guangxi, plus significant import from Vietnam and Indonesia.

Minimums in this category
Stock minimums vary by seller, design and colour. Ask whether different colours can be combined to meet the minimum, and confirm available stock before planning the assortment.
Custom glaze, colour, shape and packaging may each have separate sampling, tooling and production minimums. Request these as separate quote lines.
The two questions that predict quality
- For ceramics: what are the body, firing process and intended use? Ask for water absorption, durability and use-specific test information where those properties matter.
- For anything finished: what is the coating, and has it been tested for the market you are selling into? Food-contact and children's items carry requirements the domestic packaging will not reference.
Packing is a quality attribute here, not an afterthought
Ask the seller to specify inner protection, carton construction and units per carton before quoting freight. A packed-carton test and documented damage policy are more useful than an assumed breakage percentage.
Packing adequate for domestic delivery may need changes for the chosen export route. Review the actual packed sample before approving the shipment.

- What is a realistic first order?
- Start with samples and a small assortment that meets the sellers' confirmed minimums. Compare the packed volume and landed cost before deciding the final quantity.
- Can I get my own glaze colour?
- Ask for a sample, colour tolerance, minimum run, lead time and any extra setup cost. These depend on the supplier and process.
- How do I stop things arriving broken?
- Specify export packing in writing, ask for a photograph of a packed carton before shipping, and have the warehouse drop-test one. All three are normal requests.
