What we check before you pay
Steel grade, and which part of the product
304 and 201 look identical and cost very differently. We ask for the grade of the part that touches food and verify it on larger orders.
What the non-stick coating is
Coating composition, how many layers, and what the substrate is. "Ceramic coating" covers a wide range of products with very different lifespans.
Handle attachment and heat
Specify whether the handle is riveted, welded or screwed, and verify its temperature rating for the intended use.
Base flatness and induction compatibility
Check flatness against a stated tolerance and confirm induction compatibility for models advertised for induction.
Silicone and plastic grades
Utensils and storage in silicone or plastic have their own food contact requirements and their own temperature limits. Both belong in the specification.
